LAHAINA – For the 13th consecutive year, the nine Rotary clubs on Maui will hold an island-wide food drive for the Maui Food Bank on Nov. 19 and 20.

The Rotary Gives Thanks food drives will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Safeway in Maui Lani, Kahului, Kihei and Lahaina; Island Grocery Depot in Kahului and Lahaina; Times Supermarket in Honokowai; and Longs Drugs in Pukalani.

Rotarians will be at the entrance doors of these businesses accepting nonperishable items and cash donations.

The goal of the Maui Food Bank is to provide hunger relief for anyone who might be in need. All food and funds collected will help working poor families, seniors on fixed incomes and single parents who rely on the Maui Food Bank just to make it month to month.

Nine of the 50 clubs that make up Rotary District 5000 are located on Maui and Lanai. Rotary is a leadership organization made up of local business, professional and civic leaders. Clubs hold regular meetings where members are able to form friendships and participate in activities that serve their communities.
