By Staff | Sep 22, 2016

“Walk A Mile in Her Shoes,” an annual men’s march against domestic violence, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at The Outlets of Maui.

LAHAINA – The Women Helping Women West Maui Task Force invites everyone to participate in the fifth annual “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes” on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at The Outlets of Maui.

In this annual men’s march against domestic violence, men walk a couple of laps in high heels to help raise awareness of domestic violence, and by their participation avow that it is not okay to hit women and children.

There will be fabulous prizes, from hotel stays to gift certificates for activities and restaurants, as well as special awards for the best costume, largest team and most walker sponsorships.

Walkers can go online and register and/or put a team together at www.universe.com/5thannualwalkamile. Donations are welcome as well.

Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. – get there early and find some comfortable shoes to walk in.

Join the task force and its sponsors, The Outlets of Maui, 5A Rent A Space, Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset, H. Hawaii Media, “Burn’n Love” and Fred’s Garage, to help put an end to domestic violence in our community.
