Sen. Roz Baker to speak at Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset meeting
LAHAINA – On Tuesday, Aug. 16, the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset invites the public to a talk by Sen. Roz Baker. She will give a legislative update.
Baker has represented the people of Maui County in the Hawaii State Legislature for almost 25 years, serving in a variety of leadership positions. She currently represents the Sixth Senate District (South and West Maui) and chairs the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection and Health Committee.
A longtime advocate for access to health care, quality public education, equity in the workplace, prevention of domestic violence, eldercare and sustainable economic development, she has also championed the reform of Hawaii’s foreclosure law, creating landmark legislation that ensures homeowners are protected against fraudulent mortgage rescue schemes.
The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset’s community speaker series takes place during club meetings, which are held on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort from 5 to 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
