By Staff | Aug 11, 2016

Chris Kelly supported team Sargent’s For Life by modeling their “Glow For The Cure” bra during the Decorated Bra Contest at the 2016 Relay For Life of West Maui to educate participants about breast cancer awareness.

LAHAINA – On behalf of the Event Leadership Team and all of us at the American Cancer Society on Maui, a very big mahalo to everyone who participated, donated and volunteered to make the 2016 Relay For Life of West Maui a success!

The 2016 Relay For Life of West Maui took place on Saturday, July 16, starting at 6 p.m. and running until Sunday, July 17, at 6 a.m. at the Lahaina Aquatic Park.

A heartfelt thank you to our 29 teams and over 220 participants, as well as our sponsors, including Hale Mahaolu, Honua Kai Resort & Spa, Shore to Shore Realty Inc., Sargent’s Fine Art & Jewelry, and State Farm Insurance-Chad Santiago. We could not have done it without you!

We are happy to report that we have raised $60,158 for the fight against cancer. We have until Aug. 31 to make our goal of $70,000 for 2016. Donations can be made at “http://www.relayforlife.org/westmauihi”>www.relayforlife.org/westmauihi or by calling the ACS office at 244-5554.

Consider dedicating a star for $10 in honor or memory of a loved one who battled cancer, which will hang in the Mall of America to kick off the 2017 Relay season.

Cancer survivors, including Sen. Roz Baker (far right), kick off the 2016 Relay For Life of West Maui by walking the opening lap.

More work needs to be done until we find a cure for cancer, but together we can make it happen!

Please join us for our 2016 Mahalo Party on Saturday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at Duke’s Beach House restaurant. We hope to see you there.
