LHS to host days to collect students’ fees

LAHAINA – Lahainaluna High School will host days in the cafeteria to collect students’ school fees and student government class dues, take photos for IDs, and distribute class schedules.

The schedule is: incoming freshmen, Class of 2020, Thursday, July 14, from 9 to 11 a.m.; seniors, Class of 2017, July 14, 1 to 3 p.m.; sophomores, Class of 2019, Friday, July 15, 9 to 11 a.m.; and juniors, Class of 2018, July 15, 1 to 3 p.m.

For the school photo ID, students are asked to dress appropriately (no hats, sunglasses or strapless tops). Tank tops are not recommended; watch summer tan lines.

Mandatory dues for the Classes of 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020?are $25: $10 for class dues, $10 for student government dues (includes photo ID and handbook/planner) and $5 for quarterly mailings.

Optional fees for all grades include the $25 Maui Interscholastic League Athletic Pass required for all athletes and boarders, and for admission to LHS sporting events, and $5 for a Ka Leo Luna school newspaper subscription.

Payments are cash only! No personal checks will be accepted. Bank/ cashier checks or money orders for the exact amount are acceptable.

Seniors, be sure to have an appointment scheduled with Nagamine Photo for your senior yearbook portrait. Call 244-3636 ASAP. All photos must be done by July 31, 2016.

Upcoming events include: July 18-19, Student Council Leadership Camp in the Band Room; July 26, teachers report for their first day; July 26 and 29, Kokua Krew Workshops; Aug. 2-3, Freshman Orientation Days from 7:50 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Hale Pa’ina; Aug. 3, New Transfer Orientation from 10 a.m. to noon in Hale Pa’ina; Aug. 4, first full day of classes for all grades; Aug. 12, Opening Year Assembly; Aug. 15, Club Fair; Sept. 3, Lahainaluna Festival; Sept. 7-9, yearbook photo days; Sept. 21, senior mass photo.
