LahainaTown Action Committee invites community to help with Fourth of July fundraising

By Staff | Jun 23, 2016

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee still needs the Maui community to help in the fundraising effort for the 2016 fireworks display celebrating the Fourth of July in Lahaina. The fundraising goal is $50,000 for the event, and currently the committee is hard at work to raise these funds

“We urge local businesses to support by donating and also decorating their storefronts with flags and buntings. Activities throughout Front Street this year include magicians, stilt walkers and face painters. There will be many music venues during the day,” said Lynn Donovan, executive director.

Fundraising progress can be tracked on the two goal banners located in Lahaina Town at Shaw Street and Lahainaluna Road on Honoapiilani Highway.

LahainaTown Action Committee increased the length of the fireworks show from the original ten minutes to 12 minutes in 2015, and it was a spectacular fireworks display.

“We look forward to repeating it this year. It will take the community and businesses’ support to help make that happen,” Donovan said.

Donations for the Fourth of July event can be made by calling LahainaTown Action Committee at (808) 667-9175 or by mail to 648 Wharf St., Lahaina, HI 96761. Visit www.visitlahaina.com for more information.
