Class of 12 to graduate from Maui Prep

Congratulations to the Maui Preparatory Academy Class of 2016, which will graduate at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27.

NAPILI – Led by Valedictorian Jamie Advincula, the Maui Preparatory Academy Class of 2016 will graduate on campus at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 27.

The 12-student class includes Advincula, Hallina Bletzer, Devon Bluh, Chantal Charbonnier, Kieran Clark, Evan Frederiksen, Hao “Jay” Fu, Nicholas “Nick” Head, Ariane Petit, Richard “Rich” Sargent, Samantha Shoemaker and Suniva Thangaraj.

The recipient of a Hawaii Rotary Youth Foundation Scholarship, Advincula served as National Honor Society president and was a member of the National Art Honor Society and Rotary Interact Club.

Captain of the cross country team, Advincula earned a second place finish in Division II team competition at the 2014 Hawaii High School Athletic Association State Championships.

Charbonnier, a Hawaii Pacific Biz For You Scholarship Contest winner, was active in the National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and Rotary Interact Club.

Captain of the paddling team, Charbonnier was named an Honorable Mention All-Star in the sport by The Maui News.

Art Maui Scholarship Contest winner Shoemaker served as student body president. A swim team captain, The Maui News named Shoemaker a Second Team All-Star in swimming.

Head served as the senior class president.
