Lahaina Complex After School Enrichment Tutor Project to present achievement awards

The Lahaina Complex After School Enrichment Tutor Project helps students at King Kamehameha III Elementary, Princess Nahienaena Elementary and Lahaina Intermediate School.

LAHAINA – The Lahaina Complex After School Enrichment Tutor Project announced that the 15th annual Achievement Awards and Dinner event will be held on Thursday, April 7, in the Lahaina Intermediate School cafeteria from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Invitations to this important event for project parents and their youngsters in grades 3-8, tutors, school staff members and community sponsors have been sent. Invitees are asked to return their reservations to the school site offices.

Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Tutors will present participation and achievement awards to King Kamehameha III, Princess Nahienaena and Lahaina Intermediate School students.

Students and their parents, tutors and school support staff will be recognized for their participation, academic achievements and valued volunteer efforts and dedication.

Susan Bendon of the Bendon Family Foundation will be presented with the 2016 Mahalo Award in recognition for over a decade of support of the tutor program and funding for Lahaina Intermediate School library books.

Richard and Pat Endsley, founders of the tutor project, urge project participants to join in the celebration to honor academic successes and give thanks to the many people who have continued to make this valuable community-school partnership a huge success.
