Event to honor Lahainaluna legends
LAHAINA – The fourth “Legends of Lahainaluna” Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m. at the historic Pioneer Inn, Lahaina.
The event was created to honor individuals and businesses that have significantly contributed to Lahainaluna High School and the Lahainaluna community.
This year, the Lahainaluna High School Foundation is proud to honor former Principal Michael Nakano for the individual award, and TS Restaurants for the business award.
The foundation will also present its posthumous award to Rev. Sheldon Dibble (1809-45), one of the original teachers at Lahainaluna.
The evening event will feature a buffet dinner, two-hour hosted bar, live music performed by Al Nip, and the awards ceremony.
Tickets for this special event are $100 per person ($900 for tables of ten). To reserve your seats, use the donor form found on www.lahainalunahighschoolfoundation.org, or call the executive director at 214-2839. Seating is limited and the last event sold out, so don’t delay.
In related news, the community is invited to support Lahainaluna High School musicians! The Music Department will hold its annual Spring Concert on Monday, March 14, at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. This free event will start at 7 p.m.
Foodland’s Shop for Higher Education Program has begun. Please help Lahainaluna earn points – the more points LHS earns, the more scholarships the school will receive. Use the school code: 7562
