Schools holding kindergarten registration

By Staff | Feb 18, 2016

LAHAINA – It is important for incoming kindergartners to get registered now. If your children turn five years old before or on July 31, 2016, register them at either King Kamehameha III Elementary School or Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School immediately.

Register at the correct school for your geographical location.

King Kamehameha III Elementary School takes all ocean-side (makai) residents from Lahaina to Kaanapali through Honokahau. Registration is underway through Feb. 29 in the school office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 662-3955 for information.

Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School welcomes all mountain-side (mauka) residences from Olowalu to Wahikuli. Registration is slated from Feb. 22-26 in the school office from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. For information, call 662-4020.

Registration will still be accepted after the official enrollment period. Keep in mind for registration that the child must be five years old no later than July 31, 2016; the child must be registered by his/her legal parent or guardian; and the original birth certificate or passport is required at the time of registration.

For proof of residence, bring documents such as electric, telephone or cable bills, or housing rental agreements.

The child must have a physical examination and a TB clearance within 12 months of starting school. A child cannot enter school without a current physical exam, TB clearance, and a completed immunization record on an original Department of Education Form 14.
