LAHAINA – Island Grocery Depot opened its new Lahaina store last week Wednesday. “Lahaina finally has a store they can call their own,” said Jon Yasutake, Lahaina store manager.
The community is invited to celebrate the Lahaina store’s Grand Opening on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be exclusive specials, giveaways and fun for the whole family. ?
The team looks forward to being a part of the growing West Side community.
“We are committed to providing affordable pricing – we work hard to secure the best possible value for residents, small businesses and visitors,” said owner Nelson Okumura.
Bringing 30 new jobs to Lahaina, the new store at 58 Kupuohi St. in the Lahaina Industrial Park has expansive fresh meat, grocery and produce departments, along with a good selection of diabetic and natural foods.
Island Grocery Depot also features a growing number of local products from area farmers and producers.
Selections include hard-to-find local specialties and popular national branded grocery items. Individual and bulk sizes are offered.
The 11,584-square-foot Lahaina store and the company’s 90 Amala Place location in Kahului are open to the public. Customers can shop without a membership fee and enjoy everyday savings.
First opened in 1986 as Cash N Carry Warehouse, Island Grocery Depot remains locally and family-owned. Island Grocery Depot and VIP Foodservice are divisions of Valley Isle Produce, founded in 1950.
Both stores are open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (open until 6 p.m. on weekends).?
