Maui riders able to track buses in real-time
WAILUKU – The Maui County Department of Transportation and Maui Bus vendor Roberts Hawaii are now offering riders the ability to track buses in real-time, making catching the bus easier than ever.
The Rider app by TransLoc enables users to track buses live on a map and get accurate arrival predictions for their regular stops.
The Rider app can also save their favorite stops and routes, get customized alerts as well as receive important system-wide announcements about schedule changes, detours and other up-to-the-minute alterations in service, so people can make adjustments.
“Knowing whether your bus is across town or around the corner will be a huge benefit for our riders,” said Mayor Alan Arakawa. “This will save everyone valuable time and make it easier for them to plan their day.”
The Rider app is available on iOS and Android systems.
“The idea behind the app is to give riders more control of their public transit experience,” said Marc Takamori, deputy director of the Department of Transportation. “It is very intuitive and easy to use and puts riders in control of their schedule by minimizing the wait time and avoiding anxiety over missed buses.”
Riders will also be able to check their route status online at MauiBus. TransLoc.com. For more information, check out the company website at www.TransLocRider.com.
