Bayudan to be honored for essay on volunteering
LAHAINA – The Hawaii Access to Justice Commission and Hawaii State Bar Association recently announced that Lahainaluna High School student Krizhna Bayudan was selected to receive a $500 award for an essay that she wrote on “How to Inspire Fellow Students to Volunteer.”
There were hundreds of essays submitted statewide, “and Krizhna’s essay was truly special,” the organizations noted.
Krizhna will be formally recognized on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 4 p.m. in the Hawaii Supreme Court Courtroom. All of the justices for the Hawaii Supreme Court, Gov. David Ige and other judges, legislators and members of Hawaii’s bar are expected to be present at the ceremony.
