Rotary golf tourney to raise money for scholarships

By Staff | Oct 15, 2015

KAANAPALI – The Rotary Club of Lahaina is sponsoring its third annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the beautiful Kaanapali Kai Golf Course. Not only is this popular event fun and loaded with prizes, it also supports the Lahaina Rotary Scholarship Fund.

In the past 50 years, the Rotary Club of Lahaina has awarded over one million dollars to students from Lahainaluna, Molokai and Lanai High Schools, and Maui Preparatory Academy. This is a great opportunity to support our students and have a great time.

Golf teams of four play in a scramble setup. Teams on every hole tee off at the same time and continue from the point of the “best shot made” by a player on their team. Everyone can contribute in this format and have a blast in the process.

Early bird special fees are $125 per player or $500 per foursome.

The Lahaina Rotary Youth Foundation is a public charity, and all fees are tax-deductible. Businesses are invited to be hole sponsors and can make tax-deductible corporate donations.

But that’s not all. An “after-party” at Roy’s Restaurant is included in the package as a way to unwind, indulge in some golfer therapy and find out how everyone scored. Prizes will be distributed.

And who knows – some lucky golfer just might get a hole-in-one at the designated par three hole and walk away with $10,000!
