KAANAPALI – The Women Helping Women West Maui Task Force invites the community to participate in the fourth annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon at Whalers Village in Kaanapali.

In this annual men’s march against domestic violence, men will walk a couple of laps in high heels to help raise awareness of the problem, and by their participation avow that it is not okay to hit women and children.

There will be fabulous prizes, ranging from hotel stays to gift certificates for activities and restaurants. Additionally, there will be special awards for the best costume, largest team and most walker sponsorships.

Walkers can go online to register and/or put a team together at www.eventjoy.com/e/4thannualwalkamile. Donations are welcome.

This year, the walk will be located oceanfront. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Arrive early and find some comfortable shoes to walk in.

Join Women Helping Women and its sponsors, Whalers Village, 5A Rent A Space, Lahaina Sunset Rotary Club, H. Hawaii Media and Fred’s Garage, to help put an end to domestic violence in our community.
