‘Go Green-Recycle Third Saturday’ set for Aug. 15 at Lahaina Cannery Mall

By Staff | Aug 13, 2015

LAHAINA – Following the overwhelming success of the debut event in July, Malama Maui Nui and the new Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset will hold “Go Green-Recycle Third Saturday” as part of a major effort to bring comprehensive recycling to West Maui.

On Saturday, Aug. 15, from 8 a.m. to noon, residents will be able to bring a wide variety of recyclables to bins set up in the parking lot of Lahaina Cannery Mall.

Residential recyclables will be accepted with no charge, and there will be no payment to those dropping off recyclables. Recyclable materials to be accepted include cans, bottles, plastic, paper, cardboard and electronics.

A component of the Rotary Club’s “Go Green, Keep The Island Clean” initiative, Recycle Third Saturday will be staffed by Malama Maui Nui, volunteers from Lahaina Sunset Rotary and community volunteers. For more information, or to volunteer the day of the event, contact Liz May at 669-5200.
