LAHAINA – The Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizen’s Club recently awarded $1,000 scholarships to members of the Lahainaluna High School Class of 2015 to further their education in the health field.
The scholarships to Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) students Miyana Wagner, Chantelle Baclay, Meilani Galace and Nicole Aceret were presented by Cecelia Balinbin, Evelyn Toba, Pat Endsley, Richard Endsley and May Fujiwara.
Several club members throughout the year pick and wash plumarias and other tropical flowers to sew and sell leis to earn funds for scholarships.
“Ms. Malia Shimomura is also to be congratulated for guiding these outstanding scholars, preparing them for success in their chosen medical occupations,” Pat Endsley noted.
“The members of the Lahaina-Honolua Citizen’s Club are proud and honored to be able to provide annual scholarships to the most outstanding HOSA students in Lahaina.”
