Kaila Nip a repeat Academic All-District pick
LAHAINA – Getting it done in the classroom with as much dedication as she puts into her tennis game, Kaila Nip of Lahaina has been recognized for scholastic achievement with a second straight selection to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District 8 At-Large Team.
Nip, a valedictorian in the Lahainaluna High School Class of 2011, as a college senior maintained a 3.88 cumulative grade point average while studying biology and competing in women’s tennis at Linfield College.
She was recently honored with a fourth straight selection to the All-Northwest Conference Women’s Tennis Second Team after registering a 9-2 league doubles record (15-4 overall) and 5-3 win-loss mark at No. 3 singles (9-6 overall).
Over her four-year career, Nip achieved more than 40 victories in both singles (42-20) and doubles (50-21) competition, becoming just the 11th Wildcat in program history to total 50 or more doubles wins.
When counting ITA and exhibition matches, Nip totaled more than 100 career victories during her time at Linfield.
