Household hazardous waste collection event scheduled for May 16-17

WAILUKU – The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management announced that a collection event for household hazardous waste will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17.

An appointment must be made in advance to participate, and materials to be dropped off must be disclosed at the time the appointment is scheduled.

Household hazardous materials that may be disposed of for free include: oil-based paints, solvents, antifreeze, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, thermometers, old medication, aerosols, and propane tanks.

To schedule an appointment, or for more information, call the contractor, EnviroServices, at (855) 325-3222. Once an appointment is scheduled, the location for the collection will be provided.
