KAANAPALI – Duke’s Beach House recently recognized Ian Haskins and Shanin Sado of Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School as “Educator of the Month” for December and January, respectively.
The honorees were selected by their peers for their commitment and dedication to their students.
Special Education Inclusion teacher Haskins is described as a team player. Haskins, in his first year at the school, has stood out as someone who knows how to motivate students to do the right thing and make good choices, peers said.
Sado, a first-year fourth grade teacher, was acknowledged for her willingness to help and by leading by example.
She volunteers to cover the Imagine Learning English morning tutoring program, attend any Grade Level Chair meeting and take the minutes at Data Teams.
“We are happy to honor the amazing staff at Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School and their dedication to the children in our community,” said KC Hendrickson, Duke’s Beach House marketing manager. “Through different events throughout the year, we have been able to work with this great staff, and we are looking forward to continuing this partnership.”
Haskins and Sado each received an engraved koa box and a $100 gift certificate to Duke’s Beach House as recipients of the award.
