Big Library Read program underway

By Staff | Oct 16, 2014

LAHAINA – Teen readers are invited to participate in OverDrive’s next Big Library Read program with the state library system through Oct. 28.

Teen readers will be able to borrow and enjoy eBook and audiobook versions of “Anatomy of a Misfit” by Andrea Portes by visiting www.librarieshawaii.org.

“Anatomy of a Misfit” is an emotionally resonant story that Publishers Weekly calls instantly endearing with a highly memorable heroine and voice. This new book was just released last month, so participants will be among the first to read it.

Big Library Read is an international program that provides libraries and library patrons unlimited simultaneous access to a popular title for a two-week period, creating a virtual, global book club.

Interested patrons will be able borrow “Anatomy of a Misfit” using a valid Hawaii State Public Library System library card, and enjoy reading it on all major computers and devices without worrying about wait lists or holds. Titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, so there are no late fees!

The Big Library Read is made possible through a partnership between OverDrive and HarperCollins, publisher of Andrea Portes’ latest title.

The HSPLS eBook collection is extremely popular and well-used, and eBook circulation is growing at a faster rate than any other materials collection.

More than 40,000 eBook and eAudiobook titles from OverDrive/Digital Library Reserve are offered. Visit www.librarieshawaii.org for more information.
