Lahainaluna preparing for 2014-15 school year
LAHAINA – In preparation for the new school year, Lahainaluna High School has scheduled orientations for new students.
The two-day freshman orientation will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. on Aug. 4 and 5 starting in Hale Pa’ina.
Orientation for transfer students in grades 10-12 will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 5 in the old cafeteria.
The first full day of classes for all students will be Aug. 6. Students should report to their assigned Po’okela (advisory) groups by 7:55 a.m. Dismissal will be at 2:55 p.m.
The school will follow the new bell schedule with different ending times. Copies of the bell schedule will be distributed in the students’ planners.
Seniors who haven’t scheduled their yearbook photo appointments should call Nagamine Photo Studio at 244-3636. All photos need to be completed by the end of July.
Incoming transfer students must make an appointment with school Registrar Barbie Otomo for enrollment. A copy of the previous school’s transcript is required from all transfers.
Students transferring from another Hawaii school should also bring a release packet when enrolling.
Students from a school outside of Hawaii must present a TB clearance and physical exam report taken within the last 12 months, immunization shot records, birth certificate and a transcript or a year-end report from their previous school.
