Minit Stop supports Maui Youth Basketball League

By Staff | Mar 27, 2014

Minit Stop recently made a $10,000 donation to the Maui Youth Basketball League’s 2014 summer and fall seasons.

Minit Stop’s contribution will preserve the $20 registration fee – the league’s only source of funding for uniforms, insurance and equipment.

“The goal of our program is to reach and be affordable to all of Maui’s families. Keeping registration fees low will ensure that all our Maui youth have the opportunity to participate,” said Clayton Suzuki, league organizer.

Minit Stop is offering a convenient way to sign up by distributing league applications at all ten of their Maui locations.

“We are thrilled to be involved with the Maui Youth Basketball League and especially excited about sponsoring programs that help kids develop fundamental skills and values like a strong work ethic, a sense of community and teamwork,” said Jon Miyabuchi, Minit Stop’s vice president of retail operations.

Maui Youth Basketball League is made possible by the commitment of parents and community leaders who make up the all-volunteer organization, from coaches to referees, scorekeepers to administrators. To volunteer, call Leif Sjostrand at (808) 280-0019.

Registration is underway for players ages 6-15 through April 28. Games are slated for June 1 through July 13.
