LAHAINA – A Parent Night for current eighth-graders on the West Side will be held at Lahainaluna High School beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.

The gathering in the Samuel Kamakau Library is targeted to current eighth-graders at Lahaina Intermediate and Sacred Hearts schools entering the freshman Class of 2018 next fall.

The meeting will assist parents in understanding Lahainaluna’s curriculum and program offerings, as well as help in the planning of the child’s class schedule for next school year. Topics to be covered include school policies and expectations, graduation requirements, and course requirements and offerings.

Staff representatives from various departments and pathways will share highlights about their curricula. Information on new program offerings will also be presented.

Registration materials will be distributed to eighth-graders via their respective schools along with instructions. The deadline to return their preregistration form is Tuesday, Dec. 10.

A campus tour is being planned for incoming freshmen from the two Lahaina intermediate schools on Friday, Dec. 6. For information, call LHS Registrar Barbie Otomo at 662-3979, extension 244.
