‘KeikiFest’ slated for Second Friday

The November Second Friday Town Party in Lahaina will feature “KeikiFest” in Campbell Park between the Baldwin Home and Wharf Cinema Center.
LAHAINA – November’s Second Friday Town Party in Lahaina on Nov. 8 will feature a “KeikiFest” in Campbell Park and closure of the 700 block of Front Street.
The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. with an opening blessing and free performance by ‘Ulalena dancers in front of the Hard Rock Cafe.
At LahainaTown Action Committee’s “KeikiFest,” Campbell Park across from the Pioneer Inn will come alive with a full range of keiki activities for learning and fun.
Keiki entertainment will include racing solar-powered cars, face painting, balloon animals and games.
Patrick Markey, an artist that uses LEGO bricks as a medium to create art, will display his work and guide participants in building a community art piece. Attendees are encouraged to bring LEGO pieces to add to the sculpture.
Markey will also judge a LEGO building competition with keiki entries brought from home. Winners will be announced at 7:30 p.m.
Ono food will be served in the park by the Hawaiian Civic Club and Boys & Girls Club of Lahaina. New vendor Tiki Pete’s will serve gourmet steak sandwiches made from elk, venison, caribou, reindeer and buffalo steaks.

Live entertainment slated for the town party includes a Hawaiian Story and Bagpiper presentation at 6 p.m. at Fleetwood’s on Front St., Hawaiian entertainment from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Pioneer Inn, Willie K at Kimo’s from 9 to 11 p.m. (pick up your stamped Hula Pie card at the Lahaina Visitor Center for free admission), live entertainment from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. at Moose McGillycuddy’s Lahaina, jazz at Longhi’s from 7 to 10 p.m., Evan Schulman at Hard Rock Cafe from 6 to 9 p.m., live music on The Wharf Cinema Center stage, Benny Uyetake Band from 8 to 10:30 p.m. at Captain Jack’s Island Grill, Johnny Ringo at Cool Cat Cafe from 7:30 to 10 p.m., Nacho Cardenas “El Mariachi” at Amigo’s, and Wilmont Kahaiali’i from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lahaina Yacht Club,
The popular candlelit tour of the Baldwin Home Museum will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The museum is located on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets. The $7 fee includes admission to the Wo Hing Museum at 858 Front St. Children 12 and under accompanied by a paying adult are free.
