Soroptimists announce program for 35th Lahaina Keiki Halloween Parade

The parade is sponsored by Soroptimist International of West Maui (above), Rotary Club of Lahaina and Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise.
LAHAINA – The 35th annual Lahaina Keiki Halloween Parade down Front Street starts at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.
This year’s grand marshall is Don Rosenthal, who has devoted himself to West Maui youth athletics for over 30 years.
Rosenthal helped found the youth basketball, baseball and soccer leagues, as well as the Lahaina Junior Golf Association. He also served as director of programs for the West Maui Youth Athletic Association and coached the Lahainaluna High School golf team.
Parade participants will include Mayor Alan Arakawa, bagpiper Paul Tangnan, Shriners and their fun cars (with a surprise rider!), the Lahainaluna High School Marching Band and attendants, a Maui Fire Department vehicle and costume characters, the OliOli whale bus provided by Travel Plaza Transportation and, of course, keiki in fabulous costumes!
Keiki will line up at the corner of Papalaua and Front streets at 4:15 p.m., and the parade will begin at 4:30 p.m.

Employees parked in lots with ingress/egress only on Front Street will not be able to exit the parking lots from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.
On Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. at the West Maui Senior Center at 788 Pauoa St., Soroptimists will stuff candy bags to be distributed at the parade.
