LAC announces lineup for 2013 Halloween in Lahaina

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee and the county Office of Economic Development announced plans for the 2013 Halloween in Lahaina celebration on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Festivities begin with the 35th annual Keiki Halloween Costume Parade at 4:30 p.m. sponsored by the Lahaina Rotary Club, Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise and West Maui Soroptimists.
Live entertainment at Campbell Park begins at 6 p.m. featuring The Benny Uyetake Band.
All are invited to join in keiki activities at Campbell Park or enter the costume contest on Halloween night in Banyan Tree Park from 7 to 9 p.m.
Honu Seafood & Pizza and Mala Ocean Tavern are sponsoring the contest and awarding the grand prize of $1,000. Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m.

Deejay Ron will spin tunes at the contest in Banyan Tree Park from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Ono food will be available for purchase from 4 p.m. in Campbell Park.
Halloween in Lahaina is supported by town merchants and through sales of the official Halloween T-shirt, which is now on sale in the Lahaina Visitor Center in the Old Lahaina Courthouse (open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and at Campbell Park on Halloween starting at noon.
LAC and the Office of Economic Development want to host a family friendly event for the residents and visitors of Maui.
Underage drinking, public alcohol consumption and public nudity are prohibited.
The LahainaTown Action Committee Tent and Lost Person Tent will be located in Banyan Tree Park at the corner of Front and Hotel streets. Porta-Potties will be located throughout town.
Front Street from Baker to Prison streets will be closed to vehicular traffic and street parking from 3:30 p.m. to midnight on Halloween.
Employees parked in parking lots with ingress/egress only on Front Street will not be able to exit the lots from 3:30 p.m. to midnight.
