What’s cooking at the fifth annual Lahaina Plantation Days?

LAHAINA – Gather a group of West Maui’s favorite restaurants serving up ono grinds, and you have the recipe for an unforgettable event. It’s just one of the many exciting things happening at the fifth annual Lahaina Plantation Days this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18 and 19.
Food booths serving up a mouthwatering menu include Aloha Mixed Plate, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Buzz’s Wharf, CJ’s Cafe, Cool Cat/Captain Jack’s Island Grill, Kimo’s Restaurant, Kumu Bar & Grill, Leilani’s on the Beach, Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop, Maui Fish & Pasta, Pacific’O, Penne Pasta Cafe, Roselani Tropics Ice Cream, Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at Royal Lahaina Resort, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Sea House Restaurant in Napili Kai Beach Resort, Teddy’s Bigger Burgers, The Plantation House Restaurant and Tiki Terrace at Kaanapali Beach Hotel.
This year, one restaurant will also be selected “Best of Show” winner and take home a $1,000 prize.
But that’s not the only thing cooking at Lahaina Plantation Days.
Live entertainment will feature Da Braddahs (event hosts), Ekolu, Na Leo, Hoku Zuttermeister, Kory Kukahiko & Friends, Malino, Kawika Ho’opi’i & Friends, and Na Kupuna Ohana Serenaders. There will also be historic exhibits, a multicultural tent, beer and wine garden, coffee tent and game zone.
Attendees will be able to watch a live broadcast of the big Lahainaluna High School vs. Baldwin football game at the event on Friday. Large-screen televisions will be set up in the beer garden and Plantation Life Tent.
Lahaina Restoration Foundation will offer a special two-for-one commemorative brick during the event for continued restoration of the old Pioneer Mill Smokestack.
Held on the former Pioneer Mill site surrounding the old smokestack on Lahainaluna Road in Lahaina, the event will be held from 5 to 10:30 p.m. on both days.
