Duke’s recognizes ‘Educators of the Month’

KAANAPALI – As part of its ongoing recognition of outstanding educators in the community, Duke’s Beach House recently named Beverly Evans, Laura Kahaialii and Rebecca Skalka of Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School its “Educators of the Month” for November and December 2012 and January 2013, respectively.

The recipients were selected and recognized by peers for their individual commitment to the betterment of the community through education.

A fourth grade teacher, Evans was recognized by her peers for the dedication she demonstrated in researching the purchase of Language Arts and Math Content Objectives for the entire school, as well as for her kind and responsible disposition.

An educational assistant, Kahaialii was acknowledged for her team spirit, ability to problem solve and her positive attitude and approach to teaching.

Skalka, a first grade teacher, was recognized for being hardworking, caring, kind, positive and friendly.

“We’re pleased to honor such well-deserving educators for their willingness to go above and beyond when it comes to serving Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary and their students,” said Duke’s Beach House General Manager Shaughn Helliar.

“Educators play such a huge role in the sound development of our youth, and we’re proud we can do something to celebrate their hard work.”
