Section of Front Street to close for HOG rally

The Harley Owners Group (HOG) will celebrate their annual State Rally on Maui from Oct. 12-14.

LAHAINA – The Harley Owners Group (HOG) will celebrate their annual State Rally on Maui this year. The weekend activities take place Oct. 12-14.

The first night ride on Friday, Oct. 12, will conclude at Fleetwood’s On Front St. at 5 p.m.

Front Street will be closed to vehicular traffic and street parking from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. from Lahainaluna Road to Dickenson Street. Employees parked in lots with ingress/egress only on Front Street will not be able to exit these lots during the closure.

Fleetwood’s will host a barbecue buffet for the Hawaii State Rally. There are additional tickets for the general public for $50, which includes the buffet and a beer, wine or soft drink.

KAOI Radio will host a live remote with prize giveaways and play classic rock at the event.

In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lahaina will go pink at its Second Friday Town Party from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 12. Come out to enjoy live music, history, culture and Art Night.

This month’s Concert in the Park presented by LahainaTown Action Committee in Campbell Park across from the Pioneer Inn will feature live Hawaiian music by Al Nip, Lance Tokushima and Geri Valdriz, Mika’ele Villaren and the hula stylings of Kathy Tokushima and Hauanu Gushiken-Nip from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The event will also feature the Campbell Park Wing Eating Contest sponsored by Captain Jack’s Island Grill, ono grinds, baked goods and desserts.

Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s “Ha’ina Hou! (Let the Story be Told!)” activities include showing “The Last Harvest” at 6 p.m. at the Wo Hing Museum Cookhouse and 7:30 p.m. on the Baldwin Home Museum lawn. The series of videos shares the history of Lahaina’s Plantation Era from 1860 to 1999.

Polynesian arts and crafts will be on sale on the Baldwin Home lawn, and a candlelit tour of the Baldwin Home will be offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The $5 per person fee for the tour also includes a tour of the Wo Hing Museum. Children accompanied by a paying adult are free. Call 661-3262.
