Lunas to celebrate homecoming

LAHAINA – Lahainaluna High School will celebrate its annual Homecoming Week starting Oct. 9 and ending with the homecoming game against the Baldwin Bears on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Friendly class competition includes lip synch, hunger games and dance fever events, as well as the much revered and anticipated Alma Mater Song Contest.

Classes also compete with their banners and class building decorations.

Marella Galace serves as homecoming chairperson with help by the associated student body officers led by President Leslie Garo.

Reigning over the traditional programs will be Queen Leslie-Ann Mina and King Michael Naganuma, both seniors.

Joining them as first runners-up will be seniors Jolimar Espiritu and Jade Chihara. Class attendants are seniors Andrew Espiritu and Marella Galace; juniors Justin Bishop Tinao and Maile Amine; sophomores Nicholas Kamaka Agdeppa and Kahakumele Hamakua; and freshmen Kainoa Reponte and Kylie Salvador. They will make an appearance along with the Pep and Marching Bands during the half-time show.

The band will perform selections from “The Pirates of the Caribbean.” The homecoming theme is “The Magic of the L.”
