Foundation seeks volunteers for Lahaina Plantation Days

LAHAINA – Lahaina Restoration Foundation seeks volunteers for its upcoming fourth annual Lahaina Plantation Days.

Set for Oct. 18-20, this three-day event will be held at the old Pioneer Mill site surrounding the historic smokestack on Lahainaluna Road. Event hours are 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 5 to 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 19-20.

Volunteers are needed for the following shifts: Oct. 18, 4 to 7:30 p.m., 5 to 9 p.m. or all night (4 to 9 p.m.); and Oct. 19-20, 3:45 to 7:45 p.m., 6:15 to 10:15 p.m., or all night, 4 to 10:15 p.m.

Help is needed to assist with various tasks, including admission, keiki zone, script sales, security, ticket collector and ticket counter.

Volunteers will receive a free commemorative event T-shirt along with $10 in script for each additional shift they sign up for.

This year’s Lahaina Plantation Days will feature a Movie Night on Thursday. On Friday and Saturday, the public can enjoy restaurant food booths; a beer and wine garden; coffee tent; keiki carnival games, game booths and horse rides; Portuguese cultural activities and food; a farmers’ market; historical displays; plantation exhibits; and island music.
