Learn about college opportunities at Academic Advising Day
LAHAINA – Monday, July 9, will be Academic Advising Day for the University of Hawaii Maui College’s Lahaina Education Center.
The center is located in the Front Street Apartment complex one block south of Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Academic Advisor Kulamanu Ishihara will visit the Lahaina Education Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday to advise UHMC and prospective UHMC students regarding their academic path for fall 2012 and beyond.
Priority will be given to residents who have already submitted an application to UHMC and taken the Compass Placement Test. Current students are also welcome.

In addition, bachelor and master’s degree opportunities available on Maui will be discussed at a U.H. Center Maui presentation hosted by the Lahaina Education Center on Monday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The focus will be on preparing students at all levels, from recent high school graduates to adults returning to school, for college admission into U.H. distance learning programs.
The session is an opportunity to ask questions in an informal, face-to-face venue.
Prior to the presentation, U.H. Center representatives will provide individualized assistance from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on a walk-in basis.
Degree programs currently available include a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, an Executive MBA Degree, Post-baccalaureate Certificates in Education, and Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, Justice Administration, Psychology, Nursing, Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management, and Health Care Administration.
