By Staff | Oct 17, 2011

KAANAPALI – Beyond the Rainbow Foundation, a nonprofit public charity, and Kaanapali Golf Courses invite the public to the LPGA Golf Clinic.

The free event will be held at the Kaanapali Golf Courses facility on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 3 p.m.

As part of the Aloha Team Classic, a charity event now celebrating its sixth year, LPGA Tour professionals Kim Welch, Lisa Ferrero and Allison Hanna will join Jeanne

Cho, Duke University’s assistant golf coach, in presenting a two-hour golf clinic to share their experiences and golf tips.

Stuart Katz, Aloha Team Classic event chair, expressed the foundation’s appreciation to Maui Soda and Ice Works/Roselani Tropics Ice Cream for sponsoring this year’s event.

“Without the support of civic-minded companies like Maui Soda and Ice Works, it would be impossible for the foundation to hold this event. Mahalo to their entire team for helping the foundation help Maui’s youth.”

In addition to having the opportunity to meet and learn from these LPGA players, attendees will also be treated to free beverages and ice cream compliments of Maui Soda and Ice Works/Roselani Tropics Ice Cream.

This is the third year that the Beyond the Rainbow Foundation has hosted the LPGA Golf Clinic as part of

its annual four-day Aloha Team Classic golf event in October to raise money for Maui’s youth.

Beyond the Rainbow Foundation is an all-volunteer organization focused on “Helping Maui’s youth realize the promise of their future!”

Participants from around the world come to Maui to play in a three-day golf tournament with the option to play alongside LPGA players, enjoy great evening events and experience

paradise as only found on Maui.

The previous five years have generated over $65,000, which has been granted to various nonprofit organizations that provide much-needed services to support Maui youth.

Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun at the clinic. Meet the pros, ask questions, take pictures and get autographs.

Youth ten years and older will be encouraged to participate during the clinic. They may bring one or two clubs with them to

get individualized tips. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Kaanapali Golf Courses has been an active Aloha Team Classic supporter for five years.

Debbi Katz, president of Beyond the Rainbow Foundation, commented, “Without the help from all of our supporters, it

would be impossible to host an event of this magnitude. Kaanapali Golf Courses is very supportive of activities that benefit Maui’s youth, and their enthusiasm again for this year’s event and clinic has been fantastic!”

The Aloha Team Classic 2011 will be held from Oct. 17-20. Anyone interested in playing should contact the foundation at 665-5815 as soon as possible.

The public can support the foundation by attending the Dinner Finale on Thursday, Oct. 20, at Gerard’s in Lahaina. To buy tickets, contact the foundation.
