Princess Nahienaena Elementary School's Lynn Kaho'ohalahala (left forefront) welcomed Rotarians representing both Lahaina clubs — from left, Liz May, Kim Trelor, Don Lehman and Eric van Ketel — and their donations of school supplies.

LAHAINA — Lahaina’s two Rotary Clubs joined forces this month to get the school year off to a good start with the delivery of $150 in school supplies to each of Lahaina’s four public schools.

School supplies were delivered to King Kamehameha III Elementary, Princess Nahienaena, Lahaina Intermediate School and Lahainaluna High School.

The supplies were collected during a special school supplies drive conducted in multiple locations, including Longs Drugs, Walgreens and Office Max.

“It was a great day to be a Rotarian,” cheered Liz May, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Lahaina. “All four schools so appreciated the donated supplies. “

Administrators at each of the schools met the donors and accepted the supplies.

Lynn Kaho’ohalahala explained that the donated supplies go to the school counselors, who give them to the students.
