Foundation selling bricks for Pioneer Mill Smokestack walkway

Lahaina Restoration Foundation is selling a third phase of bricks for the Pioneer Mill Co. Smokestack commemorative walkway.
LAHAINA — The Pioneer Mill Co. Smokestack commemorative brick walkway is scheduled to receive a new phase of engraved bricks in October.
Since June 2009, the community has purchased more than 800 personalized bricks through Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Buy-A-Brick Fundraiser.
Funds raised by the sale of these bricks help offset the cost of the foundation’s most recent project, the restoration of the Pioneer Mill Co. Smokestack.
Towering 225 feet over Lahaina Town, the monumental landmark was erected in 1928. It is the last reminder of the sugar industry that once dominated West Maui.
The third phase will be completed in time for the annual Lahaina Plantation Days event taking place on Oct. 20-22.
Orders for bricks to be included in the upcoming installation must be received by Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s office no later than Monday, Aug. 22. Brick options range between $125 and $750.
