Play golf to support Lahainaluna football
LAHAINA — Ka’anapali Golf Courses, managed by Billy Casper Golf, recently launched the Ka’anapali Kokua Project, a nonprofit, grassroots effort by the company to help community organizations and various charities.
Friends of Lahainaluna Football, the first benefactor of the Ka’anapali Kokua Project, will stage a fundraiser from Saturday, May 7, through Monday, May 9.
For each paying golfer, the Kokua Project will donate $10 to the football team to be put toward team uniforms, equipment and travel expenses.
“The Ka’anapali Kokua Project is a great way for us to give back to the community,” said Ed Kageyama, PGA general manager of Kaanapali.
“Philanthropic efforts are at the forefront of our business decisions, and we are excited to be able to offer different avenues for organizations to raise funds. It is both responsible and rewarding.”
Each year, Kaanapali donates rounds and extends preferred rates to various organizations hosting charity outings.
The Kokua Project allows groups to promote their causes through golf without staging a traditionally large outing or tournament.
This new approach allows for the organization’s supporters to play on multiple days at any time of the day, with very few hard costs to the organization, allowing for a bigger financial return for the charity or organization.
To participate in this weekend’s Ka’anapali Kokua Project, visit http://bit.ly/kokuaLHS and fill out the form to present at check-in for golf. Tee times may be booked up to seven days in advance, and guests can play as many times as they like during the specified days.
