LAHAINA — Volunteers are needed to assist at the upcoming Progressive Dinner Party Through Lahaina’s Historic Sites, a chef-prepared, three-course dinner that features a different museum or historic site in old Lahaina as the venue for each course.
The evening will also include a dinner theater show, live music and a narrated historical tour as attendees travel by trolley between the sites. The event will take place on Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, from 5:45 to 10 p.m. Now in its third year, the Progressive Dinner is hosted by Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
Noted Lahaina chefs, including Mark Ellman of Mala Ocean Tavern, Sheldon Simeon of Star Noodle and Ryan Luckey of The Pineapple Grill, are volunteering their time and extensive talents to prepare a unique and elegant dinner for the occasion.
“We are seeking volunteers to assist with set-up, serving food and cleanup,” said Theo Morrison, LRF executive director. “The work is fun, and it’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and get ‘behind the scenes’ at this exciting event.”
Tickets are now available for the event; diners may choose from either Friday or Saturday evening. The price is $135 all inclusive (with beer and wine).
All proceeds will benefit Lahaina Restoration Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to restore, maintain and interpret the physical, historical and cultural legacy of Lahaina. To purchase tickets or volunteer, call 661-3262 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.lahainarestoration.org.
