Foundation to hold Annual Meeting beneath smokestack

By Staff | Apr 14, 2011

Lahaina Restoration Foundation renovated the smokestack, a Lahaina landmark, in 2010.

LAHAINA — Lahaina Restoration Foundation will host its 48th Annual Meeting at a new site this year.

On Saturday, April 16, the foundation’s yearly event will take place under its biggest 2010 accomplishment: the newly restored Pioneer Mill Company Smokestack on Lahainaluna Road.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by an ono breakfast buffet prepared by Duke’s Beach House, Paradise Found Creperie, The Bakery, Take Home Maui, Kaanapali Beach Hotel’s Tiki Terrace and MauiGrown Coffee Company. Water will be donated by Tropic Water.

The program will commence with a short business meeting led by LRF President David Allaire, followed by an awards ceremony.

Next, Executive Director Theo Morrison will look at the foundation’s 2010 accomplishments and the projects and goals set for 2011.

The meeting will be a great opportunity to view the second phase of the commemorative brick walkway surrounding the Pioneer Mill Company Smokestack. Installation of the new phase is scheduled to be completed just in time for the meeting.

The $18 ticket price includes parking, admission, a full breakfast buffet and the opportunity to learn about LRF’s mission to educate, restore and beautify Lahaina while sharing its history with the world.

Reservations and payment are required in advance; call Lisa at 661-3262.
