Boss Frog’s to continue scholarship
LAHAINA — Lahainaluna High School Foundation Scholarship Chairman Andrew Kutsunai recently ventured into the heart of Lahaina to meet with Phil Kasper, president, and Chris Kasper, vice president and general manager, of Boss Frog’s Dive & Surf.
Kutsunai stated, “Last year, Boss Frog’s started a $1,000 scholarship for a Lahainaluna High School graduating senior. This year, they will be continuing the scholarship for a member of the Class of 2011. This scholarship will be administered by Lahainaluna High School Foundation and awarded at Lahainaluna’s Senior Scholarship Presentation Program May 11th.
“We at LHSF are truly grateful to the Kaspers for their generosity in assisting the youth of our community to further their education.“
Boss Frog’s Dive & Surf, an old-timer to Maui philanthropy, has provided support to the Salvation Army, Boys and Girls Club, Lahaina Complex After School Tutoring Program and other West Maui schools and sports programs for years.
Phil said, “I’ve had both my sons and many sons and daughters of friends attend Lahainaluna High School. We are very grateful of the support the principal and staff have provided to the young people of the West Side, and this is a small way for us to give back for all the opportunities given to them in the past.”
In April, Boss Frog’s Dive & Surf will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
To apply for the Boss Frog’s Dive & Surf Scholarship, Lahainaluna seniors may contact the career and college center at LHS.
