LAHAINA — A challenge and rally are being sponsored by Times Supermarkets, with all proceeds benefiting the athletic programs at both Lahainaluna and Baldwin High School.

In the Chicken BBQ Dinner and Football Rally program, both schools have been issued the challenge to sell the most tickets for a barbecue dinner for an $8 donation.

Dinners include barbecued chicken, salad, roll, cookie and drink, all donated by Times Supermarkets and the following sponsors: Foster Farms, Coca-Cola, Fresh Express, Litehouse Salad Dressing, Frito Lay, Sara Lee and Wall Baking Company.

The chickens will be cooked by the high school and community supporters, cheered on by the football teams, band, and cheerleaders during the rally. The school that sells the most tickets will be awarded a trophy at the varsity football game between the two schools on Oct. 29th at War Memorial Field.

The rally and barbecue dinner pickup date is Sunday, Oct. 24. The Lahainaluna Rally is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon, and the BBQ dinner drive-through pickup time is 2 to 5 p.m. at the Times Honokowai parking lot at 3350 Lower Honoapiilani Road. The Baldwin rally is scheduled for 1 to 2 p.m., with pickup at Times Kihei from 2 to 5 p.m.

Help support the schools, meet the football players and enjoy a delicious dinner!

Tickets are being pre-sold now by the Luna band, cheerleaders and football players, or call Rae Matsumoto at 662-4000. For Baldwin tickets, call Rustin Singleton at 281-1625.
