Celebrate Halloween with ‘Fins and Frights Night’

By Staff | Oct 17, 2023

MĀʻALAEA — Maui Ocean Center will host “Fins and Frights Night at the Aquarium” from 6 to 9 p.m. (last entry at 8 p.m.) on Saturday, Oct. 28, featuring a costume parade and contest, trick-or-treating throughout the park and a new “The Nightmare Before Christmas” 3D experience showing inside the Spooky Sphere.

Watch diver presentations in the aquarium’s 750,000-gallon Open Ocean exhibit, otherwise known as the “Deep Boo Sea.” Join marine naturalists for educational activities, including a Shark Tooth Fossil Dig. A street magician will entertain guests, and refreshments — food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic drinks — will be available for purchase at Reef Café.

Keiki are encouraged to dress up, as there will be a costume parade and contest with prizes in various age categories as well as a family-themed category.

Entry is $15 for makua (adults) and $10 for keiki (ages 4-12), while admission is free for all Maui Ocean Center annual members. Visit mauioceancenter.com/reservations or purchase tickets at the door.
