Weekly cultural events return to Lahaina Cannery
LAHAINA — Lahaina Cannery is excited to announce the return of the weekly cultural events inside Maui’s only fully-enclosed, air-conditioned shopping center.
Kicking off the weekly events are complimentary hula shows from 1 to 2 p.m. every Sunday near the stage.
Free hula lessons are offered every Tuesday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Center Stage.
Complimentary cultural crafts are also taking place at Center Stage every Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with lei po’o and maile lei-making, as well as coconut weaving and the making of lauhala bracelets with a step-by-step instructor.
The Cannery reminds participants and shoppers that face coverings are still required inside at all times.
Lahaina Cannery continues to host the Lahaina Arts Society (LAS) every Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the lawn fronting Starbucks. Come out and talk story with local LAS artists and view and purchase paintings, glass art, ceramics, photography, woodcarving, jewelry and more.
Lahaina Cannery is also eager to announce that “America’s Diner,” Denny’s, will be opening soon in April.
Denny’s is currently hiring for all positions; applicants may apply in person from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
