Hui to feature art retrospective exhibition by Deybra Fair
MAKAWAO – Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center will present a retrospective exhibition, “Deybra Fair Trinkets, Tokens & Treasures of a Charmed Life,” from March 13 to May 8, 2020.
The show will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission at the 2841 Baldwin Avenue center.
The Retrospective Series was designed to acknowledge the contributions of individuals who have made a profound influence on local art and to share their work and ideas with the community.
Fair began teaching children’s classes at the hui when she arrived on Maui in 1980.
Since then, her work has been featured in galleries across the U.S., Japan and Australia.
She has exhibited and won awards in
multiple juried shows, as well as been granted a large-scale commission at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.
As an avid collector of found objects, Fair’s dimensional memoir invites the viewer to take a journey into her treasure trove of trinkets for a show that is bound to inspire and excite.
