KIHEI – On Saturday, March 7, a talented array of Maui’s gutsy women will gather to celebrate International Women’s Day at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei beginning at 2 p.m.

Inspired by KAKU Radio’s weekly talk show “Gutsy Women,” this showcase will feature music, poetry and song by women who have been guests on the radio.

Hosted and produced by Amorah St. John, these local shows honor women’s stories and their contributions to the Maui community. The March 7 event will showcase performances by some of these women.

International Women’s Day began in 1911 with the intention of forging a gender equal world.

In 2020, events will be taking place around the globe celebrating contributions to society by women.

The Gutsy Women Showcase is Maui’s offering to this annual worldwide event.

The showcase is a co-production of the ProArts Playhouse and Aloha Media Productions.

A portion of the proceeds will support Women Helping Women.
