Duke’s Maui to host March concert series

Henry Kapono has been a staple at Duke’s Maui for the past ten years, bringing in locals and fans from all over the world.

KAANAPALI – Duke’s Beach House will host a concert series featuring legendary Hawaiian musicians during the first week of March.

The concert schedule features Henry Kapono on Friday, March 6; Inna Vision on Saturday, March 7; and Bobby Moderow on Sunday, March 8. All of the concerts are scheduled for 3 to 5 p.m.

Kapono is a Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter and 14-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner.

Kapono was at the forefront of Hawaiian music in the 1970s as part of the duo Cecilio and Kapono, launching a solo career in the 1980s with 18 albums released to date.

Expressed in his signature rock vibe, Kapono’s original songs celebrate Hawaiian culture and his of love of family and home.

A Na Hoku Hanohano finalist for Reggae Album of the Year, Inna Vision has been performing worldwide in over 70 cities since 2008.

The international reggae band Inna Vision continues to represent Hawaiian reggae on a global stage with melodic rhythm, lyrical consciousness, versatile cadence and infectious energy.

Moderow is a founding member of the six-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning group Maunalua.

With his Maunalua brothers, Moderow has performed all over the world, including the inaugural luau for President Obama, the 150th anniversary of the Smithsonian, as well as several solo performances at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.

The concert series will be in addition to the live music offered daily during Aloha Hour from 3 to 5 p.m. and during dinner service nightly from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The Duke’s March entertainment schedule is: Mondays – Kealii Lum from 3 to 5 p.m. and Danyel Alana & Don Lopez from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Tuesdays – Damien Awai from 3 to 5 p.m. and Roy Kato & Danyel Alana from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Wednesdays – Derick Sebastian from 3 to 5 p.m. and Malanai from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Thursdays – Tim Osbourne from 3 to 5 p.m. and Kealii Lum & Eddie Aviles from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Fridays – Ben Deleon from 3 to 5 p.m. and Damon Perillo & Tim Osbourne from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; Saturdays – Kealii Lum from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Saturday Brunch) and 3 to 5 p.m., and Damon Perillo & Tim Osbourne from 6 to 8:30 p.m.; and Sundays – Derick Sebastian from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Sunday Brunch), Kealii Lum from 3 to 5 p.m. and Damien Awai from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
