LAHAINA – The Mountain View High School A Capella Choir will be performing at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
The meeting will be held at the Royal Ocean Terrace at the Royal Lahaina Resort from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Located in Silicon Valley, California, Mountain View has a rich tradition of choral music. The A Cappella Choir was founded in 2000.
Directed by Jill Denny, the audition choir is made up of hardworking, dedicated and wonderful students.
Their repertoire features a variety of musical styles ranging from Renaissance to contemporary pop songs.
The choirs are comprised of ninth to 12th grade students, selected for their musical talent, positive attitude, hard work ethic and willingness to embrace the philosophy of “Every Voice Counts.” All students are encouraged to take ownership in the pursuit of musical excellence and to model leadership practices that inspire the vision, encourage the heart and enable others to achieve group success.
The choir is excited to return to Maui this year to participate in musical exchanges, performances, outreach concerts, workshops and cultural exchanges.
The choir will be performing at Lahainaluna High School, Princess Nahi’ena’ena Elementary School, Kamehameha Maui, Kaunoa Senior Center in Kihei and Kihei Elementary School.
