Christ the King annual bazaar to feature entertainment and games

The Portuguese sweet bread dough is rising in preparation for the bazaar.

KAHULUI – Christ the King Church will celebrate 86 years of serving the Maui community at its annual bazaar on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its 20 W. Wakea Avenue campus.

The event will support the church facility and restorative maintenance, as well as the Preschool Development Program. Access and plenty of free parking will be available from Puunene Avenue.

Kathy Collins and Lehua Bissen will serve as emcees. Maui Taiko will open the event, followed by entertainment by Dance International Production, Nevah Too Late and Preschool Development Center students.

A Bibinka Bake-off Contest will be held with a $200 prize to the winner.

Plate lunches will be on sale for $10. Options include a poke bowl, pancit, pork adobo, chicken hekka, kiawe barbecued chicken, teriyaki steak, hamburger steak and authentic tacos. There will also be halo halo, Portuguese sweet bread, fresh hot malasadas, cotton candy, Filipino frozen ice candy, and banana and vegetable lumpia on sale.

Keiki will enjoy playing on the bouncers and Spyder Jump. There will be fun, challenging games for all ages with prizes. Keiki can eat at their own Midway Food Tent.

The Country Store will be stocked with farm fresh vegetables and fresh baked goods at great values. At the rummage sale, find treasures for pennies on the dollar.

There will also be a craft fair featuring Hawaiian jewelry, clothing, crafts and great gifts, and a plant sale.
