Area students to stage ‘Legally Blonde Jr.’
LAHAINA – Theatre Theatre Maui presents “Legally Blonde Jr., The Musical” from July 18-21 at The Westin Maui Resort and Spa’s Haleakala Ballroom in Kaanapali. capping off the 27th summer performing arts program produced by the Lahaina nonprofit organization.
The high-energy, G-rated adaptation of the hit film starring Reese Witherspoon, and award-winning Broadway musical, is directed by the talented Kristi Scott.
As TTM Board President Annabehl Sinclair-Delaney noted, “each year we try to bring something different to our cast of West Side kids to showcase their talents in a not-to-be-missed production for our audiences. This high-energy musical’s message about female empowerment and perseverance solidified our show choice. We are very grateful for the support provided by the County of Maui’s Office of Economic Development, and of our community and The Westin Maui Resort and Spa, to help make this happen.”
The summer’s cast of 47 youth from the six West Side schools range in age from 8-17 and have been immersed in a six-week theater camp held on the campus of Sacred Hearts School.
