Celebrate Independence Day at The Wharf Cinema Center

By Staff | Jun 27, 2019

The Maui band Nevah Too Late is comprised of (from left): Derek Bal, Randy Leval and Mickey Felipe. They enjoy uniquely tailoring their music to fit the occasion and theme of each event they play for, as well as taking requests from the audience. They seem to “nevah” use the exact same set list twice.

LAHAINA – Get ready to have a blast in Lahaina! In observance of Independence Day, The Wharf Cinema Center will be celebrating the Fourth of July with live entertainment and Red, White & Blue Specials in its shops and restaurants.

Nevah Too Late will be performing on Center Stage again from 5 to 7 p.m. The Maui band formed by three “local boys” brings together the sounds of finger-style guitar, ukulele and bass to cover songs spanning multiple eras and genres with a unique sound.

Both Derek Bal and Randy Leval were born and raised on Maui and are alumni of St. Anthony High School. Mickey Felipe was born and raised on Lanai and went to Lanai High School.

They have a repertoire of over 800 songs, ranging from Hawaiian songs of the 1800s and Big Band era songs through the current hits of today.

This event is free and open to the public.

The Wharf Cinema Center is located directly across from Lahaina’s famous Banyan Tree. Validated parking is available behind the center between Luakini and Wainee streets. Special event parking starts at 3 p.m. Maui Public Transit provides transportation from Kapalua, Kaanapali, Maalaea, Central and South Maui. For more information, call 661-8748.
